Daniel Smytka is President of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s Off-Highway Businesses which include the Global Aviation and Global Off-the-Road segments.

Most recently, Smytka was the chief operating officer for Goodyear EMEA, and, before that, he served in leadership roles in Asia Pacific for seven years, including four years as president of that region. In his leadership roles, Smytka has increased focus on high-value-added segments, improved operating efficiency and grown volume, share and earnings in key markets. 

Smytka joined Goodyear in 2008 as vice president of Asia Pacific's consumer tire business and subsequently led the relocation and expansion of the company's state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Pulandian, China to enhance the company's relationships with vehicle manufacturers and better serve customers.

Smytka has more than 25 years' experience as a multi-functional senior executive, with global leadership experiences in the areas of sales/marketing, product management, supply chain management, finance and Six Sigma Quality.

Prior to joining Goodyear, Smytka was president of the North American Building Systems & Services division of Carrier Corp. from 2007 to 2008. He previously worked for 17 years at General Electric Co. where he held positions including president of its Engineered Systems division, president of the Asia Pacific Consumer and Industrial group and general manager of the refrigeration product line.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Smytka earned a master's degree in corporate finance and operations research from the University of Memphis. He received his bachelor's degrees with dual majors in business economics and psychology from Creighton University.
