About the Information Technology Development Program

The program is designed to develop graduates into future leaders. Core assignments will focus on developing skills that will bridge the gap between the business and technology teams. The IT Development Program is designed to help prepare you for entry into the Business Analyst discipline by offering broad exposure to a variety of areas.

As an analyst, you will be the primary liaison between the business community, technology organization and external partners for all project requirements during the analysis phase of a project. You will be responsible for proactively conducting interviews with project stakeholders to elicit functional requirements, modeling those requirements in an organized manner, then managing and communicating those requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project.

All work assignments are designed to acquaint you with Goodyear's business model and culture, allowing you to enhance your future career opportunities through networking.

The associate will be expected to demonstrate effective work skills, such as time management, communications, interpersonal relations, etc. while completing tasks completely, accurately and timely.

Job Content

  • Works with business partners within one business function to align technology solutions with business strategies.
  • Responsible for collection, analysis and documentation of a client's business requirements.
  • Participates in short-term planning sessions with a client to implement process improvement within an assigned client area.
  • Documents discussion and agreements. Is a novice at using Business Process Mapping tools, but expected to grow in strength.
  • Establishes liaison relationship with business partners in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
  • Assists in assessing client needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to assist in identifying business priorities.
  • Develops, writes, and communicates requirements for the implementation of business solutions. Seeks technical assistance from technology teams to help in problem resolution.
  • Develops user test cases and validates test results during user acceptance testing.
  • Investigates, resolves and escalates problems. Analyzes metrics to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Promotes an understanding of IT roles, process and activities to the business units. Supports and participates in the formal reporting of project status.
  • Contributes to the achievement of departmental objectives by effectively participating in team activities and continuous improvement initiatives, including developing innovative CI opportunities and solutions.

Applicant Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Successful completion of Goodyear's IT Intern Program experience
  • Requires basic knowledge of business operations and systems requirements processes
