Manufacturing Leadership Development Program

About the Manufacturing Leadership Development Program

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's manufacturing leadership development program (MLDP) is a one-year program designed to cultivate competitive leaders with the skills and experience to perform well in manufacturing positions within Goodyear.

Participants rotate through four hands-on manufacturing assignments, resulting in rich exposure to the entire manufacturing process. The four rotating modules will include:

  • Continuous Improvement
  • Technology Engineer/Specialist
  • Maintenance Engineer/Specialist
  • Area Manager

Each participant will work closely with manufacturing professionals from different disciplines and will also be paired with an experienced leader to serve as a mentor. In addition, MLDP participants will spend time attending a series of leadership development workshops designed to broaden the participant's knowledge base and provide unique insights into leadership strategy and application.

"I came to work at Goodyear because the company is the industry leader in tire manufacturing. The Goodyear brand is synonymous with excellence across the globe from both a production and quality standpoint. The Manufacturing Leadership Development Program was appealing because it offered me the opportunity to rotate through the different aspects within manufacturing. It gives the participant time to learn the business from within and provides a better understanding of a majority of different jobs within Goodyear."
