About the Supply Chain Rotational Program

Associates within the Supply Chain Development Program are provided with opportunities to:

  • Rotate through 3-5 assignments based upon business needs and participant interests that will expose you to the end-to-end supply chain in areas such as:
    • Demand Planning/Sales Forecasting
    • Supply Planning – Item-level Planning
    • Order Management
    • Transportation Analyst
    • Materials Management Analyst
    • Chemical Supply Chain Analyst
    • Off-highway Supply Chain Analyst
  • Prepare to become well-rounded Supply Chain professionals
  • Participate in various developmental opportunities such as a mentoring program and formalized training
  • Gain exposure to the executive leadership team and our manufacturing facilities

New Associates entering the Supply Chain Rotational Program will be placed on a rotational assignment within the four following areas: Item Level Planner, Sales Forecaster, Supply Chain Analyst, and Raw Materials Management. The goal of this rotational program is to build competencies for future placement. Upon successful completion of this program, placement will be in one of the three positions listed below based on business needs.

1. Item Level Planner

  • Configure the Supply Chain for a specific set of products
  • Set rate and parameters for the manufacturing of products (systems configuration)
  • Calculates min/max inventory limits (at the LC’s)
  • Monitors supply chain for trends—monitor macro-level reports to determine the health of the supply chain systems and make adjustments (re-configure) as needed
  • Monitors Service Levels—fill rates—and takes appropriate action to assure service-level targets are achieved
  • Monitors inventory levels and identifies excess and slow-moving inventory and take appropriate action to assure inventory objectives are achieved
  • Coordinates deployment—factory to LC; or DFS

2. Sales Forecaster

  • Manage the Production Planning process of products at the Business Unit Level
  • Performs statistical analysis and gathers all appropriate inputs from various groups (Sales, Marketing, Categories, Finance, Planning, Manufacturing)
  • Owns and facilitates the Monthly Sales Forecast Consensus Process
  • Generates range forecasts (confidence levels) for small scopes of products

3. Supply Chain Analyst:

  • Supports all Supply Chain activities by engaging with the Customer Account Sales team, the Consumer Category Management team, Forecasting, Production Planning, and Deployment
  • Primary source for analytics in support of the Supply Chain Coordinators
  • Primary source for developing action plans and process improvements for internal and external customers
  • Data Mining using all available resources both internal and external
  • Analyze and take action based on internal and external scorecards
  • Root cause analysis to ensure cost, service and cash goals are achieved

Applicant Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Desired 1-3 years Supply Chain or relative experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Capable of interacting with all organization levels, ranging from entry-level Associates to Goodyear’s Senior Leadership Management team
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Value and appreciate diversity and may be interested in global experiences
  • Demonstrated leadership and growth potential
  • Must maintain confidentiality and strict adherence to Goodyear’s Business Conduct Manual
  • Travel required and will vary by position

Ideal Candidates

  • Have a Master’s degree in Supply Chain, PLM (Purchasing & Logistics Management) or MBA degree
  • Have co-op or Intern experience in Supply Chain fields
