--With a three-peak mountain snowflake designation, WinterCommand offers enhanced snow and ice grip
DALLAS, Texas, Jan. 28, 2019 – Building on over a century of winter product expertise, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has introduced the WinterCommand, a mid-tier winter tire featuring 54 sizes and studding capability.
The WinterCommand will help consumers deal with ice, snow and winter conditions and comes with the coveted three-peak mountain snowflake designation, backed up by a proven winter tread compound, specialized winter tread patterns and full depth zig-zag sipes.
The expanded size offerings will allow the tire to fit passenger cars, CUVs, SUVs and light trucks in a Q, S or T speed rating. The tire will also feature three tread pattern variations that are designed to be paired with specific vehicle types for optimal, customized performance.
“This is the start of a concentrated focus on enhancing Goodyear’s winter portfolio,” said Mike Dwyer, Goodyear’s chief customer officer, North America consumer. “As we look to revitalize our winter line, we are confident that the WinterCommand gives us a strong winter offering that will drive growth in a segment with enormous potential.”
Available today at Goodyear.com, the WinterCommand offers a consistent and confident grip at low temperatures. With enhanced snow and ice grip throughout the life of the tire, the WinterCommand’s tread patterns feature multiple biting edges designed for starting and stopping power on snow covered roads, for enhanced traction in winter driving conditions.
