AKRON, Ohio, May 19, 2016 – The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company received two prestigious North American supplier awards for its performance in environmental sustainability and environmental stewardship by Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. (SIA).
"SIA seeks to recognize suppliers who make efforts to align with our core value of environmental stewardship," said Tim DeLong, Senior Manager of Purchasing for SIA. "We applaud Goodyear for its dedication to the environment."
Goodyear received the awards for its environmental scorecard and its commitment to excellence in this area. The award was presented Wednesday at Subaru’s 2016 Supplier Awards Ceremony. The awards program was part of Subaru’s Annual Supplier Conference held in Indianapolis, Ind.
“We are very proud to be recognized by Subaru in this important area,” said Johann Finkelmeier, Goodyear’s vice president of North America original equipment sales. “Goodyear continues to care for our communities and environments and we are committed to share the planet responsibly with suppliers.”
Goodyear supplies original equipment tires to the popular Subaru Legacy model.
SIA is an Indiana-based manufacturer of the Subaru Outback, Legacy and Impreza line of vehicles.
