CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

Goodyear's Corporate Responsibility framework, Goodyear Better Future is an integral part of our business strategy. We focus on several important areas that help us drive sustainable business outcomes.

Building a better future to keep the world moving

At Goodyear, we are committed to ethical and sustainable practices to protect the planet and people; give back to the community; provide a safe, diverse, and healthy workplace; and engage our associates in these efforts.

Sustainability—defined as how we responsibly address environmental, social and financial demands without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs—is an integral part of our business strategy and is integrated into all levels of the company and how we work. We work to integrate sustainability into our business processes, functions and business metrics. We focus on creating value for all our stakeholders—working with our customers to help them meet their own sustainability goals, reducing our impact on the environment and educating and engaging our associates in our sustainability journey.

Goodyear Better Future

GoodyearBetter Future, our corporate responsibility framework, outlines Goodyear's high-priority environmental and social sustainability topics. These topics are woven into how we work together to drive innovation and operational excellence, create value and build a better future.

Our high-priority topics were identified following a materiality assessment, a best-in-class process promoted by global reporting frameworks that identifies and defines the environmental, social and governance (ESG) topics that are of high priority to a business and its internal and external stakeholders.

In 2022, Goodyear refreshed its materiality assessment using the double materiality process. Double materiality looks at both inward and outward impacts to an organization. For example, the climate’s impact on Goodyear and Goodyear’s impact on the climate. This type of materiality assessment examines the full scope of a company’s value chain and product portfolio.

The framework’s pillars—Sustainable Sourcing, Responsible Operations, Advanced Mobility and Inspiring Culture—continue to guide our work and where we focus.
