Protecting Nature Heritage
Associates supported a forestation project in Bled, Slovenia, by collaborating with the Slovenian Forest Service to plant new trees and protect young trees to better withstand winter weather near Lake Bled. Associates also restored walking paths along the Kokra River by adding sand and removing overgrowth along the riverbank.
Expanding Food Distribution
The Goodyear Foundation provided a $250,000 contribution to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank’s capital campaign that focuses on the construction of a new distribution center in Stark County and an expansion in Summit County. Our contribution has been directed to the enlargement of a cooler space in Summit County; a place where more than 1,800 Goodyear associates and their families have volunteered nearly 10,000 hours over the last five years.
